Little Mr. & Ms. Bicolandia 2009

No matter what happens, a child will be the fairest to his/her family and to people who love him/her. This is why although other people may see beauty pageants for little people as something petty, it could be a big deal for these kid contestants themselves because they want to showcase their best to people who care for them.

This, we feel, is the emphasis of this project held by the organization Bicol Saro-Jeddah. Prior to the coronation ceremony last July 17 in IPSJ, we had the opportunity to attend to one of their preliminaries (counting of ballots & talent portion), and we personally witnessed how the committee did a very good job of taking into consideration the feeling of each contestants.

There were tantrums, coyness on the part of the kids. But we were all praises to the handlers for manifesting patience and understanding in dealing with the kids. They did not really force the contestants to proceed strictly with the program. Rather, they let the kids do their stuffs, and made them feel that everything was just in the spirit of fun and play.

Congratulations to the grand titlists, Mariah Nadeem M. Amberti and Joshua Y. Aguila, Little Mr. & Ms. Bicolandia, respectively, and kudos to the organizer. Great job!
Here's the menu we served during the special occasion: beef with cashew nuts, chicken garlic, camaron rebusado, chopsuey, pansit malabon, spaghetti, cream of mushroom soup, sapin-sapin & bico.

Millet's Shower Party

This is the first time we used our new set of pink skirting, albeit because of Ms. Millet's expected baby is a girl. We would have glady featured her (Ms. Millet) here, but she refused on the belief it's bad to have yourself portraited (meron ba salitang ganon?) when you're preggie. Anyways, we feel our table set-up complemented the family's cozy set up.

We wish Ms. Millet the best of the period of her baby rearing, and best wishes!

Here's our menu for the July 16 occasion: mixed veggie with tofu, chicken casserole, fish fillet in sweet & sour sauce, beef teriyaki, chinese fried rice, cream of mushroom, and pichi-pichi.

Happy Birthday Andy!

Our last stint in ALJ Recreational Center has been nearly a year ago. Indeed, we had euphoric feeling when we saw familiar faces; our 'long-time-no-look' friends who have been very supportive of our small business.

Our heartfelt gratitude to Mr. Andy Layugan who gave us the chance to visit the place once again by catering to his birthday celebration, though on a very short notice.

We are hopeful we can fully set our tables and our newly set skirting in the garden once again.

To Andy, dude...happy 54th birthday! (oops...buko na b ang age?)

Here's the menu:

Mixed Pansit Bihon/Canton
Beef Kare-kare
Chicken with Cashew Nuts
Mixed Seafoods Fried Riced

Ube Cake

"Calm down, yo people! All yo got to shush now!" (oopss..just mimicking radio RX93's voice over).

Anyways, it's a pleasure to present an addition to our food collection. To all you "sweet tooth-ers" out there, we bring you 'Ube Cake'. Our medium size is about the size of regular plate, around 2.5 in tall. You can have a bite of this sweetie and share with your loved ones at SR50. The large is SR90.

This weekend, we also served of the classic Pinoy Kakanin specials, the sapin-sapin. Bon apetit!
